Joyful Movement & Jolly Steps is an initiative of Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services, with Kait Luker and Jeff Lou; who each understand the practical and motivational limitations of regular exercise… Joyful movement is an approach to physical activity that emphasizes finding pleasure in the ways we move our bodies.

 

We recognise there is happiness and health to be found in regular exercise but know that few in the community have an innate motivation to get out there and go-go-go!

 

It is with this in mind we have opted to create a social movement for people to have a laugh, chat with others and achieve some exercise goals at the same time.

How does it work?

Applying the secrets of three, this is where we know for some reason the human mind and body seems to respond to things done in threes; we have established a timetable which motivates you to do three activities a week over three-week blocks.

 

Each term runs for 9 to 12 weeks in total and multiple classes are offered over the term.  Participants are encouraged to book a class: 

 

  1. to help keep the number of participants to a comfortable level; and

  2. we trick your mind - people tend to turn up to something that has been booked and paid for in advance!

How do I join in?

We provide a number of options for you to participate...

Free: Many of our online challenges and small group classes are free so watch out for them here 

 

Pay-as-you-go: Other programs incur a small fee to help meet costs, so watch out for them here 

Term-block-unlimited: We tend to run classes in term blocks, with this we provide an unlimited subscription, so watch out for these opportunities here

General

  1. By agreeing to take part in classes, workshops, and personal training sessions provided by the team at Joyful Movement and Jolly Steps by Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services you agree to adhere to the following terms and conditions.

  2. The team at Joyful Movement and Jolly Steps by Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services personal training accepts no liability for any injury occurring as a result of taking part in classes, workshops, or personal training sessions.

  3. The team at Joyful Movement and Jolly Steps by Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services recommend all participants check with their health physicians and complete a par-q health screen or similar prior to taking part in any sessions or classes.

  4. When purchasing any packages for classes you agree that you have no medical conditions that may affect your ability to train.

  5. Your instructor is fully insured.

  6. If your health changes at any time during your time with the team at Joyful Movement and Jolly Steps by Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services, you must provide information and the details in writing.

  7. The team at Joyful Movement and Jolly Steps by Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services commit to providing correct and most recent information always in all classes, workshops, and personal training sessions.

  8. The team at Joyful Movement and Jolly Steps by Shane Warren Coaching & Counselling Services will sometimes take photographs/video footage for marketing purposes; if you have an objection to this, please inform us at the time.

  9. All fees and charges are subject to periodic increases, and we reserve the right to change the costs of our services at any point. Prior notice will be given if this occurs.

Payment Policy

  1. All personal training, workshops, and classes must be booked and paid for in advance via the Online Booking System.

  2. Payment for packages and classes will be taken immediately.

  3. A fixed-class package is for exercise classes excluding special events and unlimited is any amount.

  4. Pay-as-you-go Classes can be bought for specific booked class and is non-refundable.

  5. All packages for classes have a 4-week expiry unless otherwise stated.

  6. All personal training sessions, workshops, and classes follow a 24-hour cancellation policy.

  7. No refunds are issued for classes or packages of classes, personal training, or workshops.

  8. Classes cannot be carried over from one block to another unless under exceptional circumstances.

  9. In the event of a class being canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, you will have the session credited back to you.

  10. Packages and sessions cannot be transferred to anyone else.

 

General class information

  1. Sessions run in all weather conditions throughout the year unless otherwise advised. Please make sure you have the correct clothing/footwear to add to your comfort and personal safety.

  2. Bring water to keep hydrated.

  3. In sunny conditions be aware of the need to wear sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses if appropriate for the exercise regime.

  4. Insect repellent at certain times of the year may be required, please apply following all safety instructions detailed by the manufacturer of the product.  Do not use if not safe to use if you are subject to allergies.

  5. The format of each session starts with a warmup, main work sets followed by a cool down.

  6. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the start of the session. Time lost due to late starters will not be made up at the end of the session.
