The Shift Session

Sometimes You Don’t Need More Therapy.
Sometimes You Need A Shift.

Life has a habit of becoming complicated.

Relationships change. Careers evolve. Families grow. Children leave home. Parents age. Identities shift. Grief arrives unexpectedly. And sometimes we simply find ourselves stuck, knowing something needs to change, but not knowing where to begin.

That is where Shane Warren likes to start.

At Shane Coaching & Counselling Services, most new clients begin with a Shift Session: a focused, extended session designed to create clarity, movement and practical next steps.

This is not about fixing your whole life in one appointment.

It is about helping you understand what is happening, identify what matters most, and begin moving forward.

The Shift Session: From Stuck to Moving

The Shift Session is an extended one-on-one counselling and coaching experience lasting up to three hours.

Unlike traditional weekly therapy, the Shift Session creates space to slow down, explore deeply, make sense of complexity, and identify meaningful pathways forward.

Together we explore:

  • What is happening in your life right now

  • The story beneath the story

  • Patterns that may be keeping you stuck

  • Strengths and resources already available to you

  • Practical pathways toward change

  • The next meaningful step

Clients often describe the experience as part counselling, part coaching, part life audit, and part strategy session.

You leave with greater clarity, renewed hope, and an actionable plan for what comes next.

What Happens After the Shift Session?

For many people, one conversation creates significant movement.

For others, the Shift Session becomes the beginning of a longer journey.

Where ongoing support is helpful, follow-up sessions are available: Ongoing Sessions tend to be 90-minute private sessions

These sessions allow us to deepen the work, build skills, maintain momentum, and navigate new challenges as they arise.

Sessions may occur:

  • Weekly

  • Fortnightly

  • Monthly

  • Or simply when life calls for another conversation

There is no expectation of long-term therapy.

Some clients work with Shane for a single session.

Others return periodically over many years as trusted support through different seasons of life.
