Confidence Building Strategies to Boost Your Confidence and Self-Esteem

One of the tricky things about raising young people is that confidence often looks like attitude before it becomes self-belief.

Sometimes the eye-roll is armour. Sometimes the silence is worry. Sometimes “I don’t care” really means “I care so much I’m terrified of trying.”

This ramble looks at confidence as something we can build step by step: Confidence Building Strategies to Boost Your Confidence and Self-Esteem

What helped you build confidence when you were younger and do you think it would still work for young people today?

The Story We Tell on Anzac Day and The One We Rarely Speak About

Families often carry uncertainty quietly...

The parent waiting for test results. The teenager pretending they are fine. The partner keeping the household moving. The child who senses something is wrong even when nobody has said it out loud.

I wrote this reflection around Anzac Day, but I think the deeper idea belongs in many family conversations: resilience is often found in the ordinary acts of continuing.

A warm, grounded and practical space for parents, carers and family-minded humans trying to raise children, support teenagers, survive school terms, care for aging parents and not lose themselves completely in the process.

Here we talk about family life as it actually happens: messy mornings, anxious teens, study stress, big feelings, sibling chaos, parent guilt, communication breakdowns, and the tiny moments of love that keep us going.

This group shares reflections, parent coaching ideas, simple psychology, discussion prompts and practical strategies for helping families grow with a little more confidence, patience and humour.

No perfect-parent nonsense. Just real conversations for real families.
