Changing lives through simple solutions!

Shane Warren Counselling & Coaching Services

As part of my work I co-facilitate various support groups throughout the year, currently I am involved in the following programs…

Fun Fitness is a group of people who exercise because we have to and to help overcome the drag meet at various locations throughout Sydney to ‘play’ with others in a fun way that also helps to increase cardio activity and reduce the waste line.   Activities include swimming, cycling, walks around the harbour, touch football and whatever someone wants to arrange…

Open Ended Peer Support is a group that meets on-line several times throughout the month.  The group has no specific agenda other then to provide a peer support network where participants can talk openly about concerns, receive feedback from other members on-line and be guided by the expert facilitation of the site moderator.

Weight Management Club being a part of a modern world brings with it the stress of our image, particularly our waste line.  The Weight Management Club is for everyone who wants to be a little fitter and a thinner but just cannot be bothered with it all.  The program works from a peer support strategy and members to meet in person and on-line to help keep one-another motivated to achieve (and maintain) their health goals.  Members start with a 30 day commitment to the Trim Weight Management Program then we adopt much of the eating principles of the CSIRO Diet.

Table Talk provides an opportunity for self-employed members of the LGBT community to meet, share lunch, have a laugh and sometimes bitch about some of the struggles of being totally responsible for yours (and often a team of peoples) livelihoods!  It also gives you a chance to network with others, make good friends and break the isolation of working alone… The group meets every sixth Friday for yum cha in the Sydney CBD.

Lunch Club is a peer coaching group that meets monthly.  The objective of the club is for people wanting to bring about significant change in their lives to meet for social support in a place they can feel safe to talk openly and honestly about their troubles and while others in the group challenge them to plan and take the action steps they must take to bring about the change they desire.
